Thanked: 603And that's what I did. I realized that, unlike a run-of-the-mill puncture from a nail, this one had actually severed tire cords, and recognized that the tire had, literally, been torn by the bolt.
So, another of the same tire, and another of the same inner tube (Continental "Tour 28 All"). Tire 'n tube mounted on wheel, and wheel mounted on bike. I've promised myself to not ride "in-town" again -- whatever and wherever there are bike lanes, they're full of debris.You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Wow, that's a strange bolt to go through the tread like that. Never seen anything like that before. Very unfortunate and expensive.

Should have the panniers this week. A couple of shake out rides with full gear and I'll be dialed in.
Six months till I put my back to the Pacific and start heading east.

Just added a Trek Checkpoint to the line-up for some gravel and off-road riding.
Schwalbe g-ones 35c tubeless are some damn fine tires
