They even had some puck luck on their side ....on one of their goals.
I didn't even watch because I figured they would go down in flames right in the center ring. Whaddya do...
PM sent.
I caught the last 7:00...and watched the Cup ,make it rounds.!
Bet The Vegas Strip was some party
Yeah, I'm sure. I know Tampa was when they won it... TWICE in a row.
Oh well. This is why I'm not a betting man.
By the way. Your puck is on the way.

It’s Here !! That Paul is a stand up guy...I don’t care what anyone says about him . Thanks Paul for playing along. Maybe you’ll get it back next year....

We haven’t had anything to get excited about in a while. Everyone is hoping the number one pick will jump start things. But I’m not convinced. Not that he won’t be good. It’s the GM I worry about. We’ve seen him dismantle the team, which is easy enough. But we haven’t seen him build much.
Give him time. It took a few years but Yserman put together the team in Tampa that won 2 cups and almost won 3.
Looks like it's gonna be bleak in Tampa this year but that's how that cookie crumbles. Salary cap is a heartless taskmaster.
I just don’t know that Davidson is a Yserman. He doesn’t have a lot of time now. He has the player, now he needs the team around him. He has a few years. But if he’s wildly off track, he will be sacrificing a lot. As for the salary cap, I hear you. It’s the price you pay for winning. We finally shed the last of our biggest cal hits. It’s worth it if you got the banners in the rafters.
I think I didn't really make the point that I was trying to make there. The Lightning didn't win the back to back cups until after Yserman had already left. He was making moves and spending big money on players for wins that didn't even come until after he was gone. Blackhawks are original 6. They can afford to play the long game unlike others like the Yotes who are on borrowed time because of the market they are in. Hopefully for the fans Davidson is thinking like the Frenchman who planted those 28 magnificent live oak trees in oak alley was over 300 years ago. We don't even know his name or anything about him but he was the one who planned this:...knowing he would never live to see the grandeur of it.
Just saw a pic of that Kid from the UNH Wildcats ...is down in Tampa skating in summer camp. 6’4” Defensemen. My Wife works with his mother.
On a whim I looked it up and discovered that there is in fact an ice hockey league in Australia. The Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) has matches in our summertime. It can be watched at
https://aihl.tv/
It is however a subscription streaming service and games are likely played in the morning our local time but it might be worth checking out for those of us who get the hockey Jones particularly bad.
Preseason is on like Donkey Kong!
Regular season is so close I can almost hear the Chiclets rattling.
First game of the season and Kuch gets the first goal of it. Good start to the season for a team that should be down this year. They were hot in the preseason which they usually aren't.
I'm optimistic!
Bruins win home opener ..3-1 over Chicago...and also Celebrate 100 years as a organization.
They brought out a lot of old Bruins...Orr ,Espo, Cheever’s, Hodge, Derek Sanderson, Buyck, Eddy Johnston...Grandsons of Dit Clapper...and Eddie Shore...was a good show.
Bruins also brought back Milan Lucic....just to lay out Matt Thachuk in the playoffs.
Hope is eternal.

Yeah that was a good show. I was glad to see them win on their centennial show night. Although the little boy did get to score against them in his second NHL game.
I guess we'll see if he really has got what all the muckety mucks say he has. They sure are in a lather over him. This happens all the time with these kids that are so good in the juniors. I guess it happens in every sport. Once they get in with the big dogs they find out that EVERYONE there is a star, not just them. Very few really rise to the top.
Sadly by a.feeak accident we lost a young player who played in Britain for the Sheffield Steelers. Condolences to his family and to his young fiancee. It is such a tragedy for the whole hockey community there. What a horrible thing for the other player whose skate blade cut him by accident and a terrible thing to witness for all in attendance.

Sorry Ness. Had to cellie a little there...actually I'm not that sorry.
Mid February =time to look at the standings hehehe
Aves and Rangers are both looking strong :beer1:
Oh yeah. It's on like Donkey Kong now. One thing that you learn from hockey; never count anybody out.
Hockey?
I think I've heard of that, isn't it where the skaters get wear crash helmets? :rofl2:
Figure skatng now that's the stuff, clever no crash helmets and sexy dresses!
You should go to a game in person sometime. That's what got me hooked. It is so fast and so exciting when you're there at the arena.
If you sit to low in the stands you cannot see the puck on your side of the rink.
But if your sit behind the visitors bench you can hear that every other word out of their mouth is the F word.
It is also interesting to me that from my experience that their equipment is very used and worn and that their names on their uniforms are sewn on crooked.
I didn't notice these things on TV.
This ought to be a great game tonight. The #1 points leader against the #2 points leader.
Yeah there's a sweet spot between high and low. Section 1 is fun but not so much for watching the play as hearing the chirps and it really gives you a handle on just how fast and rough it is. It's really wild to sit close to the goal and watch those shots go by at 100+ MPH. You miss a lot being that low though. Section 3 you cam see everything but it's not as intense.
Being down low is fun if you like to trash talk the players. "HEY MCKINNON, YOU COME TO PLAY HOCKEY OR FIGURE SKATE? WHAT IS THIS THE GOLDEN GIRLS ON ICE?"

Gonnah be a great 3rd period... Tampa vs Bruins
Bruins beat The Panthers last night...Now dealing with Tampa on a back to back.
Let’s GO Bruins !..2-1 Tampa ,going into the 3rd
Great game for sure. Even better since the Lightning get the W. AND Kuch edges back in the lead in points.
We were in a Lent service and then dinner so I had to catch it on a replay. I saw Ness post and I didn't even open the thread because I figured he was posting to rub my nose in a loss. Nice surprise that.
Looks like the Bruins tanked the last 2 games....to Avoid Tampa in the first round...lol ..and it worked.
Bruins vs Toronto first round
So is it Fla vs Tampa ?
Hockey southern style. That ought to be a hell of an entertaining series. They usually try to beat the record for hits, fights and penalty minutes
