    Default Chromium Paste and rough strops

    Would this combination work? Any thoughts?

    people usually put it it on smooth flat leather or even a perfectly flat smooth piece of wood.

    rough prolly not the best choice

    I'm not sure what you mean by rough. Strops are usually smooth. Some have more grain in them if thats what you mean. If you mean rough like sandpaper the answer is no don't do it.

    I've got flexcut gold and boron carbide on a roughout leather hanging strop. These work fine, and chrome oxide might work too though I suspect it's suboptimal. I think one member here uses chrome oxide on a suede paddle.

    I put Cr2O3 on the rough reverse side of my strops.
