The old bathroom door handle, is what I use when I am away for work, which is the majority of the time. This is the outside of the door.
I have an old rag for wiping my razor off on to get the oil off, a denim strop I made, and a roo strop I made.
The hanger is now a piece of paracord looped over the handle with a caribiner on the end.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Thanked: 270
There's my Big Daddy. Notice how high I hang it. I had to strop in a motel and had no choice but to clip it to one of those hangers over my head. Found out I did better with it hanging high, so moved the one at home to that height. The pictures are Williams ads from 1932 (top) and 1925 (bottom). The ads are why I am so disappointed in modern Williams. Back in the day that was first class stuff.

Thanked: 498I'm a Lipshaw Microtome strop fiend. One upstairs in the TV room attached to wall. And a second unit downstairs at the wookbench
The upstairs strop
The workbench strop in basement
And all wearing Mr. Neil Miller's finest leather panels

Tarkus: I've wondered about the age of the Lipshaw Microtome, now I can see from the Flames on the upstairs strop that they must have been made in the 50's. Thinking Lipshaw, while being a mad genius must have also had a pompador with a waterfall....had to have had pointed toe shoes also. Dude must have rolled his Lucky Strikes up in his t-shirt sleeve. You can learn a lot of stuff on SRP (you can make up stuff also)!

Anything you like really, door handle, towel rail, hook or ring, just make sure your strop won't fall off its securing point in use. With regards to height, its best to experement, it seems to be from waist height up to head height, looking at various posts on various threads.
