You are more than welcome.
And if you have anymore questions feel free to post them.
Stropping is critical and not as easy to perfect as one might think.

Thanked: 3i realised that today after my first time
I was trying to figure out how to hold it, all the videos have strops with hook etc on both ends, also its smaller so from what i gather i need to do an x pattern

If it does not have a handle I pinch it between my index and middle finger with a slight tail sticking through, I then use my thumb to pinch down on the tail.
If your hand is getting tired or cramping you are holding to hard and probably stropping to hard as well.
You can also lay it on a flat surface to start, like the edge of a table or counter top.
This will allow you to learn one aspect at a time.
You may also want to try the windshield wiper motion, I found when I was learning this was easier for me.
If you put you location in there may also be someone close enough to you to meet up with and help with the stropping and any other issues/questions you may have.

If I am using the wiper motion it is a slightly shorter stroke but not by much.
I will see if I can find a video for you.It is just Whisker Whacking

Thanked: 1184Flat on the table is a great way to start. When you hold your strop while hanging you have to watch that you are not causing it to curl or cup. Keep the spine down at all times and use a light to no pressure stroke. Slow purposeful laps will get faster automatically after you develop the muscle memory. Some of the vids look impressive when guys are going fast but to start out your better off learning proper and slow. If you mess up your edge with a strop then you take 3 giant steps backwards.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
