Pasting a roughed leather pad?
I have an extra SRP roughed leather pad for a paddle strop that I ordered by mistake. Can I use it as a pasted strop or is it better to use smooth leather? I have a felt pad that works great with the diamond spray but I would like to set up one to use with chromium oxide.

I've never tried it but think it would be better than smooth leather if your desired result is to maximize the cutting. I think the premium linen SRD sells might be the best material for CO. I find it to be similar to fire hose material.
Try it and post your results. I pretty much use rough leather to dry the blade after cleaning.

If its something you can strop a razor on you can paste it. Other media may be better but you can use it. Good luck. Ed
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Thanks for the replies. I will give it a try since it is an extra and just sitting on the shelf.
