Stropping
Hello
Good evening guys I have been trying to learn the correct way to strop. I still am not very fast at all but after listening and watching Lynn's videos I think that I at least moved up one step. After stropping my razor today I took one of my hairs loosely in my fingers and Dragged it across the blade and the haircut very easily and quickly cut. I would think that my razor was Shave ready sharp. Before stropping it would not do this. What do you all think is this a pretty good way to say that the razor is Shave ready. Also after watching Lynn's video on his module Pattle strop. I very much want to order one as soon as I get the money.
RogerHave a great shave.

This thread is probably the best resource anywhere online for information on stropping: http://straightrazorpalace.com/strop...st-2012-a.html
Good luck!
Also something to keep in mind, I've NEVER heard any of the old hands here say you need to strop quickly. I've heard about one second down and back works pretty good. That's what I aim for.

You did what's known as a hanging hair test.. An hht tells u the razor is capable and sharp enough to cut hair.. IMO the best indicator of how the razor will shave is the actual shave test..

Shave ready is when you are getting a close, comfortable and easy shave. You should be staring at yourself in the mirror surprised at your skills with this unwieldy instrument of death. You are master of the cut throat shave. A ninja or viking warrior of the bathroom, unsurpassed in all. Seriously, a shave ready razor makes it all easy if you know that you are doing. It is just getting it there.
