The cool thing is that after using it for about 6 months, you will be so use to the missing chunk when you go on to another it will probably feel strange.

Maybe change the name from "Ugliest strop ever" to "Abstractrop-in-nater"
I think you could, if it really bothers you make a handle for it just use a straight edge this time to make guide your cut.... lol
maybe a piece of leather stitched, or a piece of wood for the handle. All that matters is you're getting good results.
