Stops and sun
I just noticed that the morning sun comes through the window onto my strop. Will the strop be damaged at all by the sun shining upon it?

In time, yes. Those UV's are strong wavicles. I'd recommend moving it or drawing a curtain.

I'll second X on this one. Move the strop out of the sun. Rhyme not intended.

Time will also eventually ruin your strop!
I recommend keeping it vacuum sealed also

I think the point here is if the strop is placed right next to a window and has considerable sun and heat applied to it, it will dry out or if you placed it outside in direct sunlight the same will happen. A couple hours in the sun won't hurt it. And if it starts to dry just use some strop conditioner.

Most people I know have very tiny windows in the bathroom so unless you have a huge window in your bathroom at most you wil receive only a couple of hours of sunlight a day and because the earth changes position depending on the time of the year you can expect this only a couple of weeks out of the year give or take. for what its worth don't fret over it.

P.S. my leather boots see the light of day every day and they hold up rather well!!

ahh, but would you strop your razor on your leather boots? That is the question!

PS. I would keep it out of direct sunlight, just as a precaution. It is better to do this than to have to buy a new one when you are trying to strop on beef jerky.
