    Default Pasted Strop Question

SORRY ABOUT THE DOUBLE POST!!!! I accidently put this in the Hones Section. DONT KILL THE NEWBIE!!!

Just purchased one of those NOS Polish razors on ebay, along with the leather/linen strops. I already have an Illinois strop that I plan on using for simple daily stropping, but figured the Polish strop would be a good one for a paste to keep edges nice and keen between trips to the hone.

My question is, for simple upkeep what paste grade should I go with? I know this is a more complicated question than it seems.

My stubble isn't terribly burly if that helps the decision at all.

Was also wondering what method I should use to apply mink oil to the Illinois, and the Polish strop to condition if needed??

    Thanks,
    Landis

    Default

0.5 micron Chromium Oxide. That stuff's tops for the final polish on the Polish and touchups.
