    Default Linnen for strop

    I'm thinkimg about making a strop. Have a source for leather but was wonering if anyone knows where I could get linnen?

    I can only guess your best bet would be a fabric store. I think they would sell linen or canvas there. If you're hard pressed, I guess you could try buying an old linen strop somewhere. Some other members who've made their own strops will chime in, I'm sure.

    If you're really set on making your own, I agree to go to a fabric store. It's gonna have to be a tight weave strip of canvas. I always did think that it looked like those thick linen belts that the Marine drill instructor wore but the weave on a military belt may not be tight enough.
