Thread: chromium oxide bar?

I too would stay away from that one on my strops!
The waxes are usually very sticky to stick to the buffer wheel and there it's good,
but on a stop it will give a sticky strop with way to much friction.
The chromium oxide inside it is probably good, it's just mixed with the wrong kind of binder for strops.Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

I use the "crayon" from SRD. Works great! I do store it in a medicine bottle to keep it from drying out.

Thanked: 522Best CrOx
I would not recommend any CrOx product unless it is specifically meant for use on strops. Hand American, SRD are two that will work fine.

As everyone has said, that's not the type of CrOx you're supposed to use on razor strops. However, I ordered one of those big bars a few years ago for my linen strop, and to be honest, it has worked great ever since. It really tweaks an edge. I guess if I had it do again, I'd get one of those kinds you're "supposed" to get, but I'm too cheap to replace it if it works.
