Thanked: 4942I have used a 90 degree angle for the most part but sometimes this will vary based on the hold of the razor.....tang length, width, shape of blade, etc. They all have worked fine. The main thing is to keep the blade flat as you push and pull across the leather, roll on the spine, keep the strop taught and don't roll up on the edge during the stroke.
Have fun.

Thanked: 1I deviate slightly from the 90-degree angle for a couple blades so as to let the full edge contact the strop without needing pressure.
One blade I have to slightly lead with the nose, another I lead with the heel, maybe 20 degress at best on both counts. FWIW the results are fine all the same in the end for me.

LOL, I am having fun with it Lynn!
Last night I was playing an on-line poker tourney and had the razor and paddle there "practicing my technique". The Bride passes by and as she shakes her head says "You're bloody obsessed!!!"
I said "Yeah, so what's your point??" Apparently, that wasn't a good reply!!!
