My dad used an open hand on my rear while holding me in the air by an arm. There was no spinning him around Usually, however after two or three swats, my mom would beg him to stop and he would.

My mom used a very flimsy yardstick, and my brother and I would scream bloody murder even though we couldn't even feel it. That way, she'd tell dad she had spanked us and we'd evade his more painful discipline, but we did have endure "the look".

I remember one time, I did something and had to go to the Principals Office. Got three swats, I got home from school, (my Dad was out at Sea. My Uncle was staying with us.) I got it again only this time with the Razor Strop. Then about four or five months later my Dad came home from I think it was a West Pac tour, he asked me if I had gotten in trouble while he was gone, and of course I said No Sir! I got it again with the Razor Strop for lying to him. I was sure glad when he got off that ship, because if I did something and got the Razor Strop applied to my backside, it wasn't three or four months later it was when he got home. I have a spot on the back of my right leg that if I take a real hot shower or bath it still shows the results of a switch or the Razor strop.
