    I strop with the toe leading. It's just what works for me. It doesn't seem to matter either way.

    Stropping heel leading feels natural for me.
    The only time I had to change it is when i strop my 9/8" custom with a smiling edge and spine
    Then it becomes a toe leading swooping movement from toe to heel.
    Requires a more careful approach and slower stropping speed to get the best from it.
