Thanked: 0Dovo Red vs Herold Red Paste
I recently purchased what was advertised as Dovo Red Paste in a tube and instead got Herold-Solingen Red Paste.
The vendor I got it from is a good vendor so I won't make a big deal out of it, but I do want to know if there is any difference between the two pastes. I wanted the Dovo red because I know its about 3 microns. If I'm not mistaken, the Dovo red is iron oxide and I have heard that some Iron Oxide pastes can be as fine as 0.1 Micros.
Does anyone know if this Herold red "tubenpaste" is more refined or exactly the same as the Dovo red?
Here's a link of the paste that I received:

geckoh,
Looking at the tubes these pastes come in, and also the solid blocks of strop compund, the Herold, Dovo etc. all look very similar.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were all made by the same manufacturer, and re-labelled for sale by Herold, Dovo etc.
Have fun
Best regards
Russ

FME, Dovo, Herold, and Jemico strops are all the same product, stamped with 'Prima Rindleder'. Good strops, IMO.
The pastes are likely same, I would think?"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
