Tony Miller Strops... I want one!
Okay, I'm totally convinced that Tony makes the best strops. I have one picked out and ready to plunk down the cash. Problem is, I don't subscribe to Pay Pal 'cause I don't need the annoying emails or the scams that result. (No fault of their own, I'm just a weary internet vet).
So, what other methods of payment will Tony accept? BTW, I want to know if a 4 sided strop, pasted on three sides is a good way to go and in what configuration is best.
Thanks Guys!

Why don't you drop Tony a PM or an email. I'm sure he can work it all out with you. He's a pleasure to deal with.

Thanked: 1On my first purchase from Tony I called him on the number given on The Well Shaved Gentleman and gave him my credit card number. Couldn't have been easier. (And the 31/4" hanging horsehide strop I got is great!)

Thanked: 5FWIW i've never gotten an email from paypal other than confirmation letters for payments sent. Scams...maybe i'm oblivious but i haven't run into anything yet. I also plan on liquidating my straight collection and paypal seems to be the preffered choice.
PS, you'll love his strops! i had him custom make me a 2.5" with his 'original' latigo with no stamping. it's so beautiful i find myself running my hand along it just for kicks and giggles. i'm so pleased with it, i've started saving so that i'll eventually be able to buy a horsehide and have him make me a piece of honeybrown to replace the linen on my latigo to make a double sided stropLast edited by edk442; 06-10-2007 at 04:44 PM.

It was years ago when phishing scams were running rampent. Never got caught up in any... to savy for that. Just got turned off by the many attempts. Perhaps I can try PayPal again now that the technology has evolved.

For what it's worth, I just bought a 4 sided paddle strop from Tony (pasted on 4 sides with 3, 1, 0.5 and 0.25 micron paste).
The results on my 4 razors, a mix of new and old restored razors, has been fantastic, and I can thoroughly recommend it. I use it in conjunction with Tonys red latigo 3" strop, it is a champion combination in my opinion and works very well indeed.

Straight,
I'm not a computer expert, but it seems unlikely that PayPal would share your e-mail info with people who run phishing scams. I get a lot of those PayPal e-mails to e-mail addresses that are in no way connected to my PayPal account. I think the scammers just send stuff to every address they can get...
