Still trying to learn the ropes but finally figured out how to make a video. Stropping a dovo 5/8 full hollow.

You are doing a good thing by keeping your speed down as you learn. Your concentration looks good and you are getting good use of the stropping area available to you.

Personally I would tighten up a touch on the strop and use a bit less pressure. That is just my two cents worth.

All and any good or bad advice would be greatly appreciated I am still very new so could use all the help I could get.

You might have a more uniform stroke if you lowered the strop hook so that the strop is closer to horizontal.

Laramie, your stropping looks pretty darn good if you ask me. Like IZ6 said, maybe make that strop a little more taught, other than that I'd say you're doing it well. The key is to keep that razor flat, which it looks like you're doing.

Thanks Andrew, I am going to tighten up on it a bit as well as lighten my pressure a little. Thanks guys for all the help!!!!

Looks pretty good to me. I agree that it looks like you are using too much pressure, but I think you have enough tension on the strop. It only looks like it's being held loose because of the excessive pressure you are using. I think you would do well to lighten up on the pressure and keep the same tension.

Your technique looks good and as long as you are comfortable with the flip and the razor position in your fingers I wouldn't change that at this point.
I would also suggest a new attachment point that keeps your strop close to level.
With the strop angle so vertical you probably have to put extra pressure on the blade just to keep it in contact with the strop. With the strop more horizontal, gravity takes care of keeping the blade on the strop in a more consistent way and you can control subtle pressure adjustments as needed with your fingers.

Im not gonna lie my strop point is about chest level but I find it comfortable that way. Also it has been there since I started so if it works for you and it is comfy do it. But in the early stages is when it is best to try something different to see how that works. Stroke looks good though and that is what matters. Don't get caught up in all the hype you see in other videos with guys stropping at mach 1, slow and easy and increase speed when you get your stroke down good work
