    Default 1st strop

    hi can anyone tell me if this strop would be ok as my first strop,ive sent my razor to be honed so when it comes back i,ll need a strop but dont want to spend too much until i,ve got the hang of this stropping lark .

    That is a fine looking strop. I looks so much like one of Tony's i wonder if he makes them for Bob (Bob Outram is a member "bobbo" i seem to recall, check the vendors forum)
    so i'm gonna guess that you will be enjoying that that strop either way.
    when you order get some of the soaps or creams he has listed that come from "the gentlemans quarter" AKA Colleen, "The Soapmistress", Churley here on the forum... you will not be disappointed

    Nope, I make them for a few places but not there. While similar it's not quite like mine.

    I have one of Robert Outram's strops and I can tell you they are extremely good. The leather is very thick and excellent grade as is the linen.
    Incredible value for money too.

    yeah i see i think it was LX using it on the honing vid, looks very nice hopefully it will be here in the morning, i hope so cos my razor came back from honing this morning along with a shave ready vintage bokun red injun 101 i bought as well, cant wait to shave with em.sitting here now practising with el cheapo ebay rubbish razor and strop slowly getting the hang of it

    Way to go! The best way to develope your stropping and honing muscles is with a POS ebay razor. You'll never be able to shave the fine facial whiskers with it but if you manage to get a halfway shave on the thick leg hairs or arm hairs, you know that you're getting somewhere.

    thanks bob, i,m well pleased with it! its wide so that makes it easier to strop being a new bod,and very well made too also a good price
