When I travel I always use my feather razor. That way I don't have to worry about humidity, moisture, stropping, etc.

Thanked: 174Usually I travel with a carry-on only and than I'm restricted to shavette. But for longer trips, when I'm checking a bag in, I opt for a paddle strop with one side of it CrOxed - it'd also take care of occasional touch-up if I need one.

Thanked: 7I hope to go to Indonesia soon and if I do I will post a section on how the straight razor part goes. SR has to go into cargo but I plan to take my strop.
My current SR resides in the same The Superior Shave sheath and I plan the same for the other razors that will become "my rotation."Last edited by AnglesMatter; 05-11-2018 at 11:30 PM.

Thanked: 25I pack my hanging strop being careful not to crease it and I take a shoe lace and tie it to the front door knob.

Well I didn’t listen to my own advice. I’m traveling in Europe for work and got rushed by a coworker to check out and I didn’t do even a double check and left my strop behind. Learn from me please cause this sucks haha! Back to using my backup Gillette super speed to keep me going.

Strike previous comment of using Gillette. Got the b&@ls to try palm stropping and so far I think it works. Time will tell......

Thanked: 557That’s something Mastro Livi does in his videos so I tried it myself. I really don’t know if it improved the edge, but it felt good. I’ve also stropped on my jeans and a dish towel hanging from our oven handle. Again, don’t know if it did any good, but it didn’t do any bad and kept me busy.

Forgot to reply to this and I found palm stropping did not work for me and the edges deteriorated quickly. I will continue to carry a beautiful piece of leather with me and pay EXTRA attention next time to not forget it.

Thanked: 96If I take a hanging strop, I always roll it up then lay it flat when I get to my hotel-motel room. I always lay the strop on a table top and lap it that way. Recently I forgot my strop and used my forearm. Worked really well. Nice thing, you can't forget it and you have two to pick from in most cases.
