Thanked: 4830My horse belly and hemp strop by DryGulch is my workhorse, and as the most frequently chosen it should be the one I guess. I do also have a Pegasus strop that is very nice.

Thanked: 3228I have a Neil Miller shell Cordovan/English linen strop that I love dearly. Since they are no longer made, Neil having passed away, I'd look for another shell Cordovan/English linen strop from another maker.

Only one strop??? No!!!!!!
If forced to choose just one, it would have to be my latigo bench strop. It's not the prettiest, but I love its draw. Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead - Charles Bukowski

I have several shell strops, however I don't use them with heavier grinds.
If I had only one, I would go with bridle or boarhide to use with any type blade.
