Default “stangen pasta” red and blue?

Found a pack of these strop pastes, red and blue, and I was wondering if anybody has any experience with these? The guy who sold them said the red one is finer, is this correct?

No, the black one is finer (only the foil wrapper being blue). I use them with Solingen paddle strops or vegetable-tanned hanging strops, the latter sanded to give the surfaces some tooth. Off a coticule, they can pick up the edge a little bit, or they can be used for touch-ups. Good stuff IMO.

Thanks! I have a couple of rougher leather strops, so I’ll try the black/blue out a bit
