Hey Tony! I don't know if you saw this thread or not, but you should check it out! It seems your strops are drawing praise from some of London's finest

Good Job man! Keep up the excellent work, old world craftsmanship like yours is a lost art and seeming a lost cause. You've proven that it is still possible to let your work speak for**you... and yours sir is speaking volumes.

    Kelly,
Thanks! Yes, I did see this a while back. You may actually see my strops turning up somewhere in the UK by years end <g>

Heh, that was a funny day.

When I went for that lesson at Trumpers they told me to bring my razor and strop along with me, so of course I did. When I got the strop out there was lots of "ooh look at that..." and "I'll go and give Bob/Jack/Dave a shout - he'll want to see this" etc. I think they were impressed with the thickness of the leather, and the sturdy build with the stainless steel fixing hardware etc.

They were very surprised how little it cost me compared to the strops they sell, IIRC Trumpers strops are re-badged Dovo hanging strops. The impression I got from them was that they'd never sell one of theirs again if people saw one of Tony's lying next to it. Of course they didn't say as much but that was the impression I got.

    Great job!

How about a Variety headline: Tony's Strops Trump Trumpers!

I am not surprised one bit. I currently own one of Tony's 2nds and am testing his synthetic strop (which is a great traveller, as it does the job and is resistant to moisture and warping). I am planning on buying the tester and ordering one of his 1sts, probably as a b-day gift for myself lol.

Hanging a TM next to a dovo strop would probably cause the dovo strop to start crying.

You guys are very kind. yes, I am proud of my strops and each is a product of my hands and something I would be proud to own myself.

The others mentioned, Dovo, Illinouis, etc... are all fine strops too, just made a bit differently.

Thank you for the kind words.

    Tony

Ilija, The Vegan strops are about 3 weeks away. I will be at my supplier the third week of September looking at a 3" wide material as well and should be able to offer both 2" and 3" sizes after that date.
