Thanked: 13245Old Magazine article on Stropping
Somewhere on here is an old magazine article from the early 1900's showing the effects of Shaving and Stropping does anyone have a link to either the Article or the Thread ???
It was from a magazine like "Popular Mechanics"

Thanked: 556I didn’t find the article you referred to Glen, but your question sent me on a Google search that turned up this article which is the most comprehensive write up on stropping I have seen.

I seem to remember the conversation we had around that post.
We were discussing whether stropping really "sharpened" the razor or whether a razors edge developed tiny fins almost like the teeth on a saw and the stropping action helped either realign them or remove them completely.
That article answered the question very nicely. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
