Thread: Diamond paste

Hi, I'm not sure this is the right forum, but here goes:

Has anybody tried the diamond past sold by open_razor (wojtec) on ebay, are they ok?

I've purchsed the diamond paste from Wojtec for some paddle strops I made for myself. I assumed diamonds are diamonds and so they have seemed to function. I have no complaints whatsoever. Wojtec's service is exemplary.

Some guys prefer diamond paste in a oil suspension some in a water based suspension. Wojtec's is an oil suspension. The water suspension seems to be easier to manipulate when it's on leather. I think its preference that is developed from personal experience.

guess I'll be trying Wojtec's paste then, it's a little easier to get it from Poland than from the US.

I bought some from Wojtec also . I think I whacked on too much of the stuff tho not realising it was oil based ( should have known with the smell of tallow ) . the razor was almost sticking to the strop when I drew it over .
Wojtec's service is second to none for me in the uk also .
If your buying paste I suggest you try one of his strops also , I love them .

His pastes have worked for me - I found the 0.5 better than the 1 micron personally. I like his strops - I have had a couple of dodgy ones though. The older one I hgot from him is thin but works well. The newer ones are nice(although the first the finish was not good) I also find that the leather on these strops is a little stretchy, but I'm not sure if that causes any problems whilst stropping. I use it about half the time I think as it has a nice feel to it.

It's to bad that I already bought the paste, guess I'll have to buy a strop from him another time, btw how long does 10g of paste last?

He was very pleasant the last time I bought a wapi from him, guess I'll have to try his cheap 6/8 razor one day.

Heck, I guess it's closer. Poland to Norway is barely farther then going across Texas.

I think the syringe will probably paste about 20 strops - so it will last you a long time - someitmes it dries out a little though

That long, and I got 3, maybe I'll make a leather benchhone with some of it..
