So, I just ordered a paddle strop from Tony, with the Red Latigo/Smooth Leather. I ordered the 0.5 Diamond to paste the smooth side...but what's the difference between Amplex Diamond and Chromium Oxide? They're both listed as 0.5 micron, so I assumed they were the same grit/finish...

Secondly, does technique change when using the pasted side? Does movement need to be more exacting and deliberate since its more of an abrasive to refine the edge?
