Thread: dumb newbie question about dovo strop

I know this will sound like a dumb question, but... nevertheless I have to ask it. I bought a 3" wide dovo strop and I am not sure which side to use. It doesn't have a linen side and one side of the leather is dark and to me somewhat bumpy. The other side is a light tan and very smooth. I can take pics later. I apologize again for the dumb question. Thanks. Phil

Use the light tan smooth side. You probably could, if smooth enough, apply a paste, like .5 to the other side if desired.
