    Default Strop paste comparisons

Hi I was wondering where abouts in the scale of things pastes like the dovo pastes and chromium oxide etc sit with comparison to the diamond pastes?
Just thinking about making a pasted balsa strop for the time being...

IMHO the dovo paste is of a higher grit 2 and 4 to 6. the chrome green paste of 0.5 micron seems favorite for restoring a great edge after say 6 shaves. now there are folks that say the 0.25 diamond paste although really sharp does take some getting used to and laeves the face a bit rough and that although the chrome paste is not as fine at a half micron or .5 it is smoother and good enuf by a long way.

it seems that hardened str8 users dont tend to go for the doco paste anymore because things have moved on a bit with these diamond pastes which everyone seems happier about using - better result.

    try this -
