Thanked: 3795The problem is that you are only hoping it's the right size. This is like cleaning a gun and hoping it's empty. Of course the consequences are less severe, but you are gambling with unknown CroOx. It may improve your edge but it may chew it up.
Please don't apply the CroOx as heavily as the above photo. You only need a little, not a complete painting of the surface.

I'd be careful with that. it sounds like you got paint pigment. It may contain CrO but it probably also contains a lot of other stuff you don't want on a strop. You want to make sure it's pure CrO in the grit you want which is best done by buying from a razor related outfit.
