    Default Repasting strop

When repasting a strop with green chrome or aluminum oxide, do you use mineral oil, water or Lexol to mix the powder up? Or, do you put it on dry and just rub it in? Just wondering.

Check out the thread below, personally if it's going onto leather I think it's best to use a dressing medium to apply it. But if it's going onto linen/canvas just going on dry with the powder has worked for me just fine.

The main thing to keep in mind is to keep the amount of abrasive pretty low, that's made the biggest difference for me.

Thanks Droshi, I must have missed the dressing part of that thread the first time I knew somebody had to know something.
    Thanks again,

Usually people buy the stuff as a paste however the liquid is just a carrier like the water in paint so I would imagine water can be used. Tony would be the expert on this. Just make sure of the grit size before you put it on your strop.
