The short answer is: Yes you can paste the linen side of a strop.
Would you be looking on refreshing a razor's edge or putting a final "polish" on the razor's edge?
I understand your question, but IMO it depends a bit more on what you're looking for "that one paste" to do for your edges.
To illustrate my follow up question with a related medium, I would have a different suggestion it someone asked: "If I could buy only one stone, what should it be?"
If for example a person wanted a stone used only to handle the minimal edge maintenance on properly tuned razors, I would have a different suggestion than if the same person wanted to use a stone primarily for setting bevels.
I hope that made sense.

In general it is recommended to not paste a linen strop with abrasive pastes. But of course if you want to you can paste anything including your bathroom walls.
As far as a generic paste goes I'm not sure there is one but the closest is probably Cr0 or maybe .5 diamond paste. It really depends what you want to accomplish. For edge maint. those two are probably the main ones.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
