Thanked: 2Strop cleaning advice?
I noticed a dark grey kind of gunk collecting on the edge of my strop. Since it is on the razor side of things it is obviously metal and dust collected there. My question is, what is the best way to dissolve this without harming the leather. I have some Dovo yellow paste, but I don't think it will loosen it up any, and I don't want to scrape it off either. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Lets see if Tony Miller chimes in here. I don't have the gunk collecting, but I've wondered about cleaning strops too.

I use any good leather cleaner/conditioner, such as saddle soap without any water just apply and clean it up with clean soft rag(old t shirt).

Thanked: 369If already suggested methods do give expected results, it would be good to see a pic of your strop.
