Thread: Linen strops???

Hi,
I understand there has been much debate on the linen strops. I have a 3" wide Dovo strop that does not have a linen strop. What are the advantages or benefits of using a linen strop. Is it worth me buying one? Thanks to all input. This site rocks!

Oh I don't think there has been that much debate. Its a YMMV type of thing. Those of us who use them swear by them and those who don't think they are unnecessary. See? it's very simple.

They are very inexpensive so I would say get one and use it and then stop using it and see if there is a difference. Then you can take sides.

I agree. I think after it finally clicks after using it for a while, you can't live without it. I haven't been able to find the right touch with it yet, but if it's anything like the lightbulb moment I had with the leather side, we're in for a treat

Between the .25 diamond paste and the leather strop I find newsprint quite soothing.

I'm hoping the the linen will take its place.
