I also agree that you don't seem to need a strop. People have managed with a number of alternatives...
On the other hand, picking up one to give it a go is a great idea. I'd be interested to hear your feedback once you try it

I just paid $17.51 for a new Caswell Massey strop I spotted on ebay. I hope Caswell Massey isn't just a rebranded Zeepk! If it's crap I'll just paste it and go from there.
I also ordered some dovo strop dressing and some black and red paste, so I'll let you know how it goes.
