Exactly what it says on the tin. I'm considering using a HandAmerican bench strop for daily stropping, but wanted some feedback from people who might know more about strops than I.

Right now I have a Tony Miller paddle strop. I use only the red latigo side on a daily basis, 25-30 passes before a shave, 5-10 after. This does a good job of keeping the edge, but I touch up on a coticule or, now, Swaty from time to time. Before the coticule I used the Dovo red paste, but I'm trying to move to keeping honing and stropping separate. I know it works for some, but it doesn't work for me.

I have a thick beard and no discernible grain, but I keep a good edge on my razor this way. I figure a bench strop will be just a little more comfortable for me since I could do it one handed. Trying a hanging strop just didn't work for me.

So I'm wondering which, if any, of the pads at http://japaneseknifesharpening.com/handamerican.html would be akin to the Tony Miller Red Latigo? If the scrubbed pad replicates Chromium Oxide, it sounds to me like that's not what I'm looking for in daily stropping. So is the full grain what I'm looking for? Am I totally off here?

I'm currently pretty happy with the results from the TM paddle, but just looking to change honing mechanism. In the end, I may stick with what I know, but I just want to get some advice while I'm pondering.
