    Right now I am using a 7 to 8 oz. Latigo for the Artisans and Originals as it gives the blend of suppleness vs. body to hold its shape. On Apprentice Strops I'm using 9 oz . Most often these come to me heavy from the tannery. This can vary as each run feels different.... some stiff, some soft. You pretty much need to judge each hide on it's own merits.

    I've bought 7/8 that measures 6oz, or 7/8 that measures 9oz or more. Just judge'em as you find'em!
