That was because I had already mailed off the replacement BEFORE he sent the folded one back <g>

For traveling purposes I coil mine, no bends , no creases!

One way to get the ridge out would be to fill a round jar with hot water and place the strop on a flat counter and rub the jar over the strop a few times to see if it helps. This also helps flatten cupping of the leather.
