    My only question would be doesn't the razor pick up oil and chemicals like natural acids and such from your skin not to mention bacteria? I think I'll use a towel.

    I always clean and wipe the blade after stropping that way. I guess its no different than stropping on leather strops, as leather also contains acids that will corrode the blade (never store a knife in its sheath), as well as bacteria from the blade while shaving.... towels are good!
