Default Stropping on arm: razor drying technique

    Hey all,

So the past couple of weeks I have been trying a new way of drying my razor after I shave. I wipe it down with a piece of kleenex or toilet paper then I just strop it on the inside of my forearm. I have pretty smooth skin on the underside of my arm, and pretty much no hair on that side, so it's a perfect stropping surface!! It's really quick and easy and I strop a good 15-20 times, then just put the razor away until tomorrow.

Anyone else do anything like this?

    Dave

p.s. My girlfriend doesn't like even like kitchen knives, so her expression when I showed her stropping my razor on my arm was priceless!!

if people cut their strops by accident, i think cutting your wrist by accident would be rather bad

Definitely! Only confident stroppers should attempt stropping on yourself.

Why not simply strop on a towel? It would be more absorbant than your forearm.

Other than that, do what you like! I can see you may enjoy the habit, as it gives a nice feel for the razor!

My only question would be doesn't the razor pick up oil and chemicals like natural acids and such from your skin not to mention bacteria? I think I'll use a towel.
