    Thumbs up Felt Strop source

On or about Dec 29, Lynn posted that he had great success with using CrO paste on a felt strop or felt pad. Can Lynn or anyone tell me where I can find these felt strops. I am using Hand American CrOx on leather with decent results but would welcome any opportunity to kick it up a notch. Thanks in advance for any replies... Jerry

Are you looking for a pre-made hanging felt strop? Straight Razor Designs sells them now. Or, are you looking for felt strips for bench hones? Or....are you looking for larger quantity in larger sizes?

    I found 3x8 stropping-felt at Stropping Supplies for $4.50.

I got them today. The felt is rock-hard and flat. It feels very different from the linen strop I have, it is a bit coarser. It basically feels like what it is: wool that is compressed.

Here is the one for the Hand American flatbed hone. Magnetic backed. I have one and love the CrO2 on the smooth bovine. They also have the felt pads.

It works well for me, but I am using it for a travel-strop with leather on the other side, so IDK how it will be with chrome.
The felt is really firm/hard and the thickness is even.

I am thinking of doing exactly that, making a small travel strop that might be more convenient to pack than my dovo travel strop --- would you please post some pics of yours and/or explain dimensions, how you made it and where you got your materials, etc. ?
