I have an Illinois 206, and I do 25 laps on the linen side, and 50 on the leather. Originally I did 10 on linen and 20-25 on leather, but I tried the 25-50 thing at Glen's suggestion, and I noticed a real difference. Now that's all I do.

In regards to strops. Can anyone tell me how wide and how long a strop should be? Some are very short 17" and narrow 2". And some are upto 24" or longer and 3" wide. What are the pros and cons? It seems like a short strop is restrictive.
