A little Bailey's Irish Creme might go well with it...

    (sorry, couldn't resist)

Did it stain the leather on the stropping surface?? I think it depends on how much the coffee soaked in, but I wouldn't think it would get destroyed that easily! Do you have any pictures?

P.s. If it is a bit stained, you could take hults' suggestion. I'm sure Bailey's Irish Cream will help lighten that stain up!

Hey, not too long ago some of the guys were experimenting with ashes on their strops. Let us know how cafe au lait does!

You might want to rub some saddle soap into it and them wipe it dry, let it sit a few days and then hit it lightly w/ some neats foot oil (baseball glove oil works also) or some leather cleaner for cars or furniture. Neats would be my first choice. Go sparingly and wipe off excess.

Hope it was some good coffee. Who knows, it may improve the strop!

I would think the best first aid is to immediately soak up as much of the stuff as possible with paper towels and then immediately use some leather cleaner like bic or lexol and after it all dries access the situation. it make take several cleanings to get out and finally some conditioner or oil.

I’d just soak up anything with paper towels, rub in enough Neat’s oil until the stain blends in, have the mods delete this post and then it will not have happened.

So I guess the question of "Can I strop while holding a cup of coffee?" has been answered...

Seriously, though, I hope this works out for you... Let us know!
