    Default chromium oxide powder

I have a leather/linen strop and assume it needs to be coated with some type of abrasive before it can be used?? Can I just use the powder and if so can I get it locally? Which powder do people recommend for a hanging strop? thanks.

You use the strop as it is!!! Only apply pastes to a dedicated strop for use as a touch-up strop.
You need a plain leather strop for every day razor prep and the linen is also left plain for the same reason. Dovo white paste can be applied to the linen strop with no problem and I would recommend this.
