Advantages and disadvantages to hanging v. paddle?

I kinds prefer the paddle, at least in theory due to the fact that it is flat and easier to work with.

Thanks for the PM about the Livi Heirloom, but that is a little rich for my blood. Unless it is gonna hope out of the closet and strap my razor for me.
