I came across a strop in an antique store today. It was 2", maybe 2½" wide and about 20" long. I'm not sure of the leather, but IIRC it was horsehide. The bottom ¼ was not in very good condition, a lot of nicks and cuts. What intrigued me was that it was backed with a woven material which I'm going to assume was canvas. The canvas looked to be in brand-spanking-new condition. It was tagged at $16.

I have a TM Artisan "Lite" 3" Latigo on the way now. Would that antique strop be worth picking up for the canvas?

Once again, I went antiquing without my camera. Sorry, no pics. I may be able to stop back on Monday if I get a chance...
