Thread: Strop width

I recently bought an extra wide dovo strop. I think its the best purchase I've made so far. I'd say go with the wider strop. I think it's worth the money.

I agree with TheBigSpendur. It isn't difficult to get in to the habit of using the x-pattern. It was how I first learned to do the stropping. Now I’m using a narrow Jemico strop, but I’m looking forward to my new 2” tri-strop setup from Tony.

My strop is a 2" Dovo Best Russian, and I find it works well
with razors of all sizes. If you don't like the X-pattern, you
can always strop a portion of the blade and then reposition.
