Thanked: 2Mix Diamond Compund with Oil or grease?
Hello All...
I remember from Lynn's DVD that he mixed the Diamond Paste with Water
Is there any reason of doing this? should it work with Oil?
I'm asking this because my lather flat bed hone looks so dry with the Diamond Paste...
Regards,;
Victor

I used some I got from Tony Miller on his four sided paddle. I can't recall if his came mixed with water or neatsfoot. It may be on his web page. Here is a thread on diamond paste by Tony that is very instructive. I get the impression from reading it that he didn't mix his with water. You might PM him to be sure.

Thanked: 735When I order diamond paste, it comes either in water soluble form, or oil based.
It would seem to me that you want water soluble, as that would make cleanup much easier, and thus reduce the chance of cross-contamination.

Thanked: 4942I used to do this more, but have gotten away from it. I mixed the diamond paste with water to get better coverage and more coverage on my flat bed hone. It worked for 10-15 razors at a time. I really have gone more to just using the paste spread very thin over the leather and re-apply sparingly every 6 razors of so. Also I am using the .5 diamond spray on the felt flatbed more than anything these days.
