    Default making a paddle strop

    i was looking in to making a paddle strop . what is the best leather to use? and what about grain i can get some off cuts from a tanner but some have some goat grain in , would this still be a good base for a strop.? can anyone shead some light

    I think the fun is being able to play with the different leathers and see what they do. You can try something rough cut, or something more grainy or something smooth just for stropping with no pastes. Experiment with what you can find.
