    Default Hand American

I am considering using stropping materials from Hand American. I know some of you have had success with them. What do you suggest for finishing pasting.

I've bought leather from Keith. Great guy, easy to deal with. I use some of his boron carbide paste, followed by his chromium oxide. I'm using his natural leather, not the conditioned. Good stuff.

0.5 micron chrome oxide (green) works well and is inexpensive. Diamond does cut faster.

I have not tried the boron carbide.

    Default Why finish paste?

The Handamerican double sided leather "hone" is sufficient for getting a great edge. Finishing pastes are fun to play with and I have used CrO as well as diamond pastes but they're not necessary. The reddish side of the handamerican hone is somehow conditioned and treated and it's great.
