    Default DIY TM Tri Strop?

So seeing as Tony is just too swamped...........

Can anyone speak to this "modular construction" he talks about? If one was to say order a horsehide/cotton and a latigo/linen in the same size could they paste the cotton and combine into a quad strop (since clearly this is more reasonable than keeping them separate you know no hook in the bathroom only willing to convince the landlord of allowing installation of a small single one......)

Any of the components used on the 2" or 3" models will interchange, or stack with any other. They are all the same length, same hole spacing, etc.... This is something I standardized on the strops 3 years ago when I developed the current design. the 2 1/2" models vary a bit being based on either a 2 1/2" or 2 5/8" width as my linen supplier changed widths in mid game.

But......despite the popularity of the Tri-Strop i still think anything beyond 2 components is just too bulky and cumbersome to use. I'd much rather have two pair or a pair and a single hanging from the same hook and just pick up the component, or component pair I need for the task at hand.

Hope this helps. If you need more details just e-mail me via the website.

    Thanks,
    Tony

    I concur with Tony.

I purchased the Tri-Strop around Christmas time and waited for it as did Ralphy wait for his Daisy Red Rider BB gun with the compass in the stalk in "A Christmas Story" .

I missed the postal carrier's dellivery as the straight packaging did not fit in the mail box. I was so exaspirated and I drove as fast as legally possible to the PO in order to intercept it as the mail carrier returned to the post office. Unfortunately I had to leave as the carrier was still out on his rounds.

During my lunch time the next day and retrieved the Tri Strop from the PO! It was as my imagination promised. It was packaged in a long tubular sleeve and a heavy plastic sleeve sealed.

The Tri Strop is a the most Meatiest strop on the market. It is the "Fully loaded Hummer of a Strop"!

IT had so much to offer but you have to flip the cambric section over in a manner that is not the best.

I decided to order the cotton section and separate the latigo from the Horse hide. I now have Horsehide with genuine linen and Latigo with canvas. I am very glad that I re-fastened them in that specific combination.

Of the two cloth components I do prefer the cotton while the linen is also a very good choice.

The two are ying and yang! Buy all four components! You won't be dissapointed.

Some fellows don't mind flipping the cloth component up and over to use the lower one but I find it less than ideal.
